Bryan Johnson, a rookie cop in Millis, Massachusetts, fabricated a crime scene that involved his police car being shot at and catching on fire after crashing into a tree. State police initially launched a manhunt on Tuesday and WHDH 7 News releasing what Johnson had reported: “The suspect fled the scene. The suspect is described as a white man driving a dark-colored or maroon Ford F150 pickup truck. The suspect used a black handgun.”
Unfortunately, Sergeant William Dwyer eventually received the ballistics report that showed it was Johnson’s own handgun that shot the bullets into the police car. Dwyer then told multiple outlets that the story was fabricated, although they are unsure if the rookie officer also purposely set the car on fire. Johnson is currently on paid administration leave and the state police are looking to charge him on misleading an investigation, providing false information, destruction of police property, and unlawful discharge of his firearm.
